Giada AF208 Fanless Wide Temperature Industrial Player with GPIO and Serial

The Giada AF208 is a semi industrial player built on Intel Alder Lake-N, rated from -20°C to 60°C and running on any supply between 12 and 24V through a lockable connector. It is completely fanless, adds four serial ports and a GPIO header for direct equipment control, and draws as little as 6W. It suits outdoor enclosures, kiosks, vehicles, plant rooms, unheated storage and any application where the player has to interact with hardware rather than just display content.

Wide Temperature and Wide Voltage

The AF208 operates from -20°C to 60°C and survives storage from -40°C to 80°C, well beyond the 0°C to 45°C typical of commercial signage players. Cooling is fully passive with no fan, so there is nothing to clog with dust or seize in cold weather. Power accepts anything from 12 to 24V at up to 45W through a lockable DC connector that cannot vibrate loose, which makes it directly suitable for vehicle electrics, solar and battery systems and 24V industrial supplies. The Intel Atom X7211E build draws just 6W, and the Intel Processor N97 build 12W. Certified to CE, FCC Class B and UKCA.

Four Serial Ports and GPIO for Control Applications

Two RS232 and two RS485 ports are fitted as standard, the widest serial provision in the Giada range, allowing direct control of screens, projectors, sensors, PLCs and building systems without USB adapters. A 10 pin GPIO header adds four general purpose inputs and four outputs for switching relays, reading door contacts and triggering content from external events. Networking pairs an Intel i219-LM at 2.5 Gigabit with an Intel i210-IT at Gigabit, the latter an industrial temperature grade controller rated for the same environment as the chassis, so you can separate content delivery from control traffic on hardware built for the conditions.

Display, Storage and Continuous Operation

One HDMI 2.0 output and one DisplayPort 1.2 output each drive a display at up to 4096 x 2160 @60 Hz, for two screens in total. The DisplayPort is colay with VGA, so it can be supplied as an analogue output instead where an existing screen or projector requires it. Intel UHD Graphics supports DirectX 12.1, OpenGL 4.6 and OpenCL 3.0 with 8K 60fps HEVC and VP9 decode. Memory is 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5-4800 soldered onboard in single channel, and storage is an M.2 2280 slot running PCIe 3.0 x4. Two USB3.2 Gen2 ports at 10 Gbps, two USB2.0 and a combined headset jack complete the I/O. A hardware watchdog timer, auto power on and a programmable weekly RTC scheduler keep it running unattended, with optional TPM 2.0.
